Jenni is a Chartered Legal Executive Lawyer and has worked in the legal profession for over 20 years. Initially commencing her legal career in private practice Jenni also has 11 years of experience working in-house in the Charity sector. In addition, Jenni has achieved recognition as a Chartered Governance Professional through ICSA.

Jenni’s in–house experience commenced with Home-Start UK, one of the leading family support charities in the UK where Jenni worked closely with the Board of Trustees, CEO and senior management both of Home-Start UK and the individual Home-Start schemes spread across the UK. This role involved running and overseeing the Legal Helpline which provided advice on Employment matters, Governance, Safeguarding, Charity Law and Company Law, advice being provided verbally, in written format or face to face.

More recently Jenni has gained experience working in-house for the British Psychological Society, which is a membership-led charity working within the Legal and Governance team. Jenni’s role requires her to provide and support the Board of Trustees and senior management team with sound legal and corporate advice to ensure all business decisions, operations and processes including employee relations and contract management are legal and governance compliant and mitigate risk. Jenni also advises and supports the Directors of the Society’s trading subsidiaries.

In addition to the above, Jenni provides clerking services to Ratcliffe College. This role includes advising the Board of Governors on correct procedure and governance at the College.

Jenni strengthens the team at ksabLAW which she works for on a consultancy basis. She has a wide range of Employment Law and HR experience including:

  • being appointed as an investigator to review and report on complex matters;
  • advising in relation to potential restructures, grievances and disciplinary matters;
  • advising on Policy and Procedure, identifying gaps and compiling contracts of employment and staff handbooks;
  • advising on contractual issues; and
  • Conducting and organising high quality, efficient and practical legal advisory helpline for small to medium-sized entities on all areas of employment law and other related legal matters.

In her consultancy role, Jenni has recently carried out a number of projects for a large local client which included overseeing and advising management on a capability issue, investigating a grievance, reviewing and updating the staff handbook and advising on flexible working requests.
